515-599.

Met between 2018-2023

515. Jim | Met on October 25th, 2018 in Chicago, Illinois

Well, it took me half a year but I finally made it back to Chicago to meet Jim and I immediately fell in love! Jim lives with my friend Brett who got him after losing his senior cat Vincent (Cat 7). Jim is about 8 years old. He is super friendly, but only on his terms. Don’t try to hold him, he’s not into it. We hit it off pretty quick and spent a lot of time together over 4 days. Jim buddied up with me the whole time I was there, sleeping at my feet every night. He barely speaks at all but those beautiful bright eyes say everything you need to know. What a warm, fantastic personality, easily a top ten cat right away!

516. Travel Plaza Cat | Met on October 28th, 2018 somewhere on 90E in Indiana

This little cat broke my heart. They were wandering around the parked cars approaching travelers looking for food. I sat and watched a nice woman move them to the far end of the parking lot and give them some food. This situation reminded me that I really need to start having a bag of dry food in my car at all times given the amount of hungry wild cats I come across.

517-518. Edgar & Archie | Met on November 14th, 2018 in Westlake, Ohio

So, Karen at work rescued two siamese sibling kittens and we’ve been bugging her to bring them in. Finally it happened and I got to spend an hour with Edgar & Archie. They were quite shy but also pretty chill as about twelve co-workers came in to visit and play with them. They both seemed to enjoy being held, pet and photographed. At home, they’re always together. Edgar is the leader, he likes to hide stuff in shoes and one time he got stuck inside an open vent! Archie doesn’t ever make a sound, he’s a special little guy and a piggy eater!

Age: 12 weeks
Edgar’s Nickname: Edgar Allen
Archie’s Nicknames: Archiekins, Archibald
They both like: Ice cubes, Climbing the mattress to the top bunk, Avocado, Q-tips, Straws, Bottle caps
They both dislike: The sound the bathroom scale makes when it slides across the floor

519. Cat on my parent’s back porch | Met on November 22nd, 2018 in Lorain, Ohio

This little one-eyed fella was snooping around on Thanksgiving morning. While my parents are cat lovers, they aren’t particularly fond of the neighborhood strays lounging around their yard. There’s a house around the corner where I always see 5 to 7 cats in the driveway, my Dad thinks this kitty is probably one of them. I haven’t been able to get a picture of that house yet.

520-521. Vanessa & Lil Snack | Met on January 9th, 2019 in Cleveland, Ohio

What a treat to meet these two sister kittens! I wish I would have gone over to meet them earlier when they were really little. My friends Matthew & Marcia took them in after their farm cat mother gave birth to Vanessa right on Marcia’s lap! Vanessa (grey) was the 1st born and Lil Snack (orange) was the runt in a litter of 5 kittens. We had a fantastic visit filled with selfless cuddling and frenetic play. They are both such good climbers effortlessly running up the walls and the studio ladder. Lil Snack has a wild personality, she’s ready for anything. Vanessa is a bit more pensive and complex, she likes to really taking things in. They were both such good girls, I already miss them.

Age: 5 months
Vanessa’s nicknames: Vanessel, Venues, Venuesal, Beast
Lil Snack’s nicknames: Little Snack, Snackish, Squirrel Tiger, Lil Crack (when she has the catnip mouse)
Vanessa likes: Lil Snack, Snuggles, Heavy affection, Making biscuits, To observe and process things
Lil Snack likes: Vanessa, Pouncing on feet in bed, Climbing people, Playing hockey with foil balls
They both dislike: The spray bottle (just the sound of it being picked up is enough)

522. Stray Cat | Met on March 16th, 2019 in Cleveland, Ohio

This little one eyed kitty was hanging outside of the Animal Protective League. If they would have let me get closer I would have grabbed them and brought them into the shelter.

523. Robot | Met on March March 27th, 2019 in Lakewood, Ohio

My friends Wyatt & Amy have a new kitten! She was a gift for their daughter Ellie’s 9th birthday and their youngest daughter Leona named her Robot. Robot comes from a family friend’s litter of 6 kittens down in Canton, Ohio. She moved in with her new family and house cat Greg (Cat 15) a few weeks later. Robot and Greg quickly became best friends, playing and snuggling together. Greg has been pretty lonely ever since Charlotte (Cat 16) moved out a few years ago. When I met Robot she had only been in her new home 6 days but she was already pretty well adjusted and confident. I’m very excited to watch Robot grow. Good work Wyatt & Amy, you picked a great one!

Age: 7 weeks
Nickname: Baby
Likes: Food, Being under chairs, Snuggling on Wyatt’s head and neck, Exploring, Scratching on things
Dislikes: Being held for a long time, Loud noises, Being scared, Wheat litter

524. Cat in my parent’s backyard | Met on April 21st, 2019 in Lorain, Ohio

Yet another cat disturbing the peace in my parent’s back yard. Look at those beautiful markings!

525. Milo | Met on May 17th, 2019 in Lorain, Ohio

Meet Milo, my parents new baby kitty. I love him! He’s a 4 month old exotic shorthair and he’s nearly perfect in every way. Milo is very receptive to being held and loved. His coat is exceptionally soft and his tail is so fluffy. He’s only been in his forever home about a month so he’s still exploring and learning his routines.

526. Cat under my car | Met on May 18th, 2019 in Cleveland, Ohio

This kitty was enjoying some shade in the Animal Protective League parking lot after I finished my volunteer shift. There’s a handful of strays that live on the property in little cat houses. You can get close to some of them but never close enough to bring them inside.

527-529. Parking Lot Cats | Met on July 26th, 2019 in Cleveland, Ohio

There’s a community of feral cats living next door to my friend Frank. These are the 3 cats I saw but Frank says there’s at least a dozen. The white one was chill enough to get close to (he’s the only one that looks like it’s been through TNR).

530. Kitten at Edison’s | Met on August 12th, 2019 in Cleveland, Ohio

This little cutie was looking for scraps on the back patio at Edison’s Pub in Tremont. They looked like they’re doing pretty good scrounging around behind all the local bars. My friend Paul fed them some cheese, we tried getting close but they were pretty skittish.

531. Peso | Met on August 30th, 2019 in Cleveland, Ohio

Peso (formerly known as Rigatoni) is the new outdoor cat at the Cloud Nothings band house. He’s been hanging around for a while, my friend Chris already took him to the vet. I bet he’ll make his way indoors come winter where he’ll join Rictus (Cat 366) & Ferguson (Cat 367). Peso was a delight to hang out with, VERY social, very friendly!

532. Outdoor Cat | Met on September 4th, 2019 in Cleveland, Ohio

We had a quick encounter on the front porch of my friend’s house before they took off into the backyard.

533. Duncan | Met on September 30th, 2019 in Cleveland, Ohio

Well, it took me over a year to get a meeting with Duncan and he was worth the wait. Paul, you really undersold him! Duncan (seen here with his summer cut) is a big fluffy boy with a very friendly personality. He is cared for by my friends Paul & Alli who got him 5 years ago from an ‘incompatible house cats’ situation where his name was Liam. Originally, he was born into a cat hoarding situation. He’s a fiend for affection, he’s very cuddly and his little mews are so quiet and cute! He hung out on the arm of my chair with his butt up in the air after our little photo shoot. I miss him already.

Age: 8 years
Nicknames: Dunc, Empress Duncan, Slam Dunc, Doogles, Little Dootie, Dude, Dog, Lil Bubber
Likes: Prancing, Cuddling, Licking cans of White Claw, Vegan cheese
Dislikes: Water and not much else
Fun fact: He’s so chill he’s never darted

534. H Space Cat | Met October 5th, 2019 in Cleveland, Ohio

This little fellow lives in my friend Eli’s gallery loft. He ventured out during a performance to say hello to everyone and of course I followed him upstairs where we spent a few moments checking each other out before the loud music started again and he vanished.

535. Street Cat | Met October 7th, 2019 in Cleveland, Ohio

Street cat sighting!

536. Monty | Met October 12th, 2019 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvannia

Jane & I were in Pittsburgh seeing Boy Harsher & Spellling play a dance party and after the show Monty came strolling through for some affection. The locals said he’s always hanging around when there’s a show. His collar tag said “Monty has cat door”.

537-538. Momma Cat & Baby | Met on October 18th, 2019 in Cleveland, Ohio

These two live somewhere behind the local DIY gig house and punk bar I frequent. I suspect one of them is actually Cat 532.

539. Cinder | Met on November 8th, 2019 in Parma, Ohio
*Plus some bonus photos of Elska (Cat 326) & Kylfu (Cat 327) who I haven’t seen since they were tiny!

I’ve been trying to arrange to meet Cinder (orange) for at least a year now. My friend Ash is his cat mom, he joined her family of siblings Elska (white & gray) and Kylfu (black, pronounced kee-voo) a few years ago. Cinder showed up at Ash’s old house as she was moving out. Ash thinks he was abandoned by her neighbors who moved out overnight and left all their stuff on the tree lawn. Cinder was pretty easy going when we met, a genuine good boy. It was hard to give him my undivided attention while the other two cats were scoping me out. For me, three cats is the perfect number and this is an exceptional trio!

Age: Unknown… 3 years?
Nicknames: Cindy, Bugboy, Bubby
Likes: Ash, Food, Being on top of the cat tree, Warm laundry
Dislikes: Strangers, Being hungry, The vacuum
Fun fact: Two days after being brought inside he was snuggling with the other cats

540. Newt | Met on November 23rd, 2019 in Cleveland, Ohio

The petite baby on the left is Newt, seen here investigating my boots with Buster (Cat 136). We got to spend a little time together and she was a real lady with me, I think we’d get along famously given a few more visits. Her humans, John & Isabelle, were surprised that she was so amicable with me… but you know me, I have a way with kitties.

541. Quarantine Cat | Seen from a far everyday of March 2020 quarantine in Cleveland, Ohio

Wow, I haven’t met any new cats in a long time. That little black loaf roams all over the yard of the house across the street from me. Judging on how they interact with all the tenants I’m going to say they’re well cared for.

542. Cat in Jane’s backyard | Met on June 6th, 2020 in Willoughby, Ohio

This friend hangs around my girlfriend’s neighborhood and taunts her cat Bristles (Cat 347).

543. Winnie | Met on June 13th, 2020 in Chesterland, Ohio

Winnie lives next door to my girlfriend’s sister, she can’t be more than a couple months old. The pictures don’t do her justice, she’s so petite and gives off a pretty heavy ferret vibe the way she slinks around! She was a wiggly little worm and a little hesitant around us but still very accommodating.

544. Frankie | Met on June 15th, 2020 in Cleveland, Ohio

This fine gentleman lives next door to my friends Emily & Aaron. Emily is trying to entice him with treats to get him comfortable hanging out on their porch.

545. Mister Kitty | Met on June 23rd, 2020 in Cleveland, Ohio

Mister Kitty lives in the same neighborhood as Frankie (Cat 544) and is way more amicable. He visited us for a few minutes while we hung out on Emily & Aaron’s front porch. Jane said I would definitely get fleas from him but I didn’t. So far I’m two for two meeting cats each time I visit Emily.

546. Moose | Met on July 12th, 2020 in Auburn, Maine via FaceTime

Moose is one of my Aunt Nancy & Uncle Rick’s cats that I haven’t met in person yet. Here he is sporting his summer cut, he couldn’t of cared less about having a video call. I’m trying to make it to Maine for Thanksgiving this year, I’ll do a full report on Moose & Rusty then.

547. Neighborhood Cat | Met on July 23rd, 2020 in Lakewood, Ohio

I’ve been seeing a quite a few cats on my walks around my new neighborhood, hopefully I can get some more pictures. This kitty tried to follow me down the block after getting pet for a minute in their driveway.

548. Teacup | Met on August 7th, 2020 in Cleveland, Ohio

Meeting this petite little cutie was a real treat regardless of her sinking her claws into me so hard that I bled ALL NIGHT. Teacup lives with my friends Wyatt & Laurie, next time I visit them I’ll conduct a full interview.

549. Outdoor Ghost Cat | Met on August 7th, 2020 in Cleveland, Ohio

I swear there was a cat there.

550. Pizza | Met on September 5th, 2020 in Kent, Ohio
*Plus bonus Tylan (Cat 88) who I haven’t seen in probably 10 years

I got to stop into Doug & Steph’s for a minute and got to meet Pizza. He’s an 8 year old former dumpster cat who mostly hung out on the banister (previously seen in Elliott Cat 25’s photo). Pizza lives with Tylan, who is the last cat standing from Doug’s pack of OG cats. It was good to see Tylan, he’s a sweet old bear.

551-552. Keith & Linda | Met on September 5th, 2020 in Kent, Ohio

Oh man, Keith & Linda… I had limited time to hang with them and they wouldn’t stop moving to give me good pics. Linda (in the tub) was easier to handle than fluffy little Keith. They live with my friend Pat in a house that looks like a vintage toy store. Classic kittens through and through. UPDATE: I got to see them again, here’s some more pics!

553. Rigby | Met on September 6th, 2020 in New Philadelphia, Ohio

I was only around Rigby for a less than an hour but I can tell this is his favorite thing to do all day. He was one with the cube and couldn’t have cared less that I was petting him. Rigby lives with my friend Nathan’s brother Jeffrey and his family and one very well behaved dog.

554. Church | Met on October 7th, 2020 in Cleveland, Ohio

Church just moved to Cleveland from Pittsburgh with Jane (Cat 345) and their human Andy. Church seems to have had a rough life but it sure hasn’t stopped her from being an absolute sweetheart! Really looking forward to seeing Church & Jane from time to time, I’m glad they get along so well!

555. No Name | Met October 10th, 2020 in Kent, Ohio

This skittish little bear lives with Adam in a big house in Kent. They are an indoor/outdoor kitty who doesn’t have an actual name, but their nickname is Poco. It took about 15 minutes for them to warm up to company and come say hello.

556. Window Cat | Met in Lakewood, Ohio

I see this cat across my apartment’s parking lot several times a week.

557. Rodeo | Met in Cleveland, Ohio

Oh Rodeo, when will this pandemic end so I can play with you? This small child lives with my friend Noah, I’ve been absolutely loving watching him grow up on Instagram. Someday we’ll meet.

558. Cat behind my apartment | Met in Lakewood, Ohio

Spotted running towards the park behind my building!

559. Simon | Met on May 1st, 2021 in Berea, Ohio

Well, well, well Simon what a personality! This Russian Blue beauty lives with my friends Brandon & Chandra and their family of five or six cats including their oldest blind boy Emmet (Cat 307). Simon could not get enough attention from me and made it VERY hard to say goodbye when I dropped Brandon off after the comic convention. Simon is such a big baby that he has his own stroller… adorable!

560. Rusty | Met on May 29th, 2021 in Auburn, Maine

So if you’ve been following my cat site you probably know that my Aunt Nancy & Uncle Rick have had A LOT of cats under their care throughout the past 20 years. Most start out as foster cats but some just appear out of the blue and choose them. When Nancy & Rick moved to Maine a few years ago they were cat-less after losing a few elderly kitties. After they got settled into Maine, Rusty and Moose (Cat 246) quickly chose to move right in with them. I made it up to Maine to for a week and finally got to meet them. Rusty was quite the lover, he spent a lot of time curled up with me and was very receptive to attention even sleeping next to me once or twice during my visit. He loves to spend time outside hunting birds and watching the neighborhood squirrels and turkeys.

546. Moose | Met (in person finally) on May 29th, 2021 in Auburn, Maine

Okay, so I posted Moose on the site last year after meeting him on a FaceTime call with my Aunt… but I finally got to meet him and Rusty (Cat 560) in person. Moose was sooooo apprehensive and skittish the whole time I was there except for the last morning when I got up early and he begged me to let him outside to chase the birds and squirrels. Moose exudes personality with those piercing eyes but we really didn’t get to do any bonding, oh well maybe next time. My Aunt babies the heck out of him and his shy boy personality.

561. Donna Jean | Met on September 17th, 2021 in Chicago, Illinois

Donna Jean lives with Charlie (Cat 74), my friend Ben and his partner Carrie. I met her on a trip to Chicago to see Dead & Company, which is appropriate because she’s named after the Grateful Dead chanteuse Donna Jean Godchaux. We got some quality kitty cuddle time in throughout the long weekend. She’s an absolute sweetheart.

Here’s a bonus pics of Charlie (Cat 74) who stayed mostly out of sight the whole time…

562. Genevieve | Met on September 30th, 2021 in Cleveland, Ohio

Genny is the latest edition to my friend Jayson and his roommates’s menagerie of indoor/outdoor cats. What beautiful friendly baby who let me pick her up and shower her with affection. She patrolled the backyard and chomped on plants while Jayson and I hung out for a while.

563. Street Cat | Met on October 23rd, 2021 in Cleveland, Ohio

I spotted this collared tabby while dropping my friend Paul off outside their new house. Paul’s seen them around before but they were a bit too skittish to come any closer when I tried to say hello.
